Venomous
Mild discomfort
This scorpion belongs to the family Vaejovidae, which is not among Mexico's medically important scorpions; its sting usually causes only local pain, much like a bee sting. Wash the area with soap and water, apply a cold pack, and see a doctor only if pain persists or unusual symptoms appear.
