Can cause injury
Mild discomfort
Like any stony coral, its sharp branches cause cuts and scrapes that sting, heal slowly, and get infected easily; contact can also mildly irritate the skin. Wash the wound well with soap and water, disinfect it, and see a doctor if it turns red, oozes, or will not heal.
